Tripodal Stool - Original Version

Designed with striking simplicity by Studio Adjective from Hong Kong, this multifunctional piece serves as a stool, side table, or nightstand. A practical feature allows a cable for a lamp or charger to pass through between the seating surfaces.

This project is a collaboration with the Japanese furniture label ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY, which, following the 2011 earthquake in Japan, designed a series of minimalist yet functional furniture pieces that have since gained significant popularity.

SCHATZL manufactures the Tripodal Stool in Germany, licensed by ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY.

A key aspect of the collaboration is the Made-in-Local production concept. Furniture and objects are crafted in small quantities, following local craft traditions and using regional raw materials.

The TRIPODAL STOOL faithfully reproduces the original construction with screw joints and has been available in a number of coniferal wood species over time - from intensely aromatic alpine stone pine from the Murtal region to the calm, visually subdued fir from the Bavarian Forest. Currently, it is available in local spruce.

Apart from the original version, SCHATZL produces a dedicated 'Made in Local Munich' version of the stool, which is constructed without screw joints and with reduced cross-sections, giving the stool a lighter appearance.

The sturdy and pleasantly substantial stool is a piece of furniture designed to last many years and, if needed, to be restored.
