KOBO STEP
Filigraner, leichter Tritt aus Lärche, der in seiner verblüffenden Einfachheit den Minimalismus japanischer Möbel bravourös repräsentiert. Neben der Primärfunktion als Tritt für Kinder und Erwachsene, der auch außerhalb der Abstellkammer eine gute Figur macht, eignet er sich auch als Nachttisch oder Gelegenheitshocker.
Das Projekt ist eine Kooperation mit dem japanischen Möbellabel ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY, das 2011 nach dem Erdbeben in Japan eine Reihe minimalistischer, aber äußerst zweckmäßiger Möbel entworfen hat. Ursprünglich davon motiviert, mit den Opfern der Katastrophe die wichtigsten Möbel des täglichen Gebrauchs auf einfache Weise herzustellen, haben die Entwürfe zwischenzeitlich weltweit beachtliche Aufmerksamkeit erhalten.
Konzeptioneller Kern ist die Nutzung lokaler, gut verfügbarer Hölzer, eine überschaubare Komplexität in der Bearbeitung und eine gleichermaßen einfache wie funktionale Konstruktion. Verbindungen werden häufig mit Hilfe von hochwertigen Edelstahlschrauben realisiert, so auch bei diesem Hocker.

Light step made of larch wood, whose stunning simplicity brilliantly represents the minimalism of Japanese furniture. Apart from its primary function as a step for children and adults, nice even beyond the closet, it is also serves as a bedside table or occasional stool.
This project is a collaboration with Japanese furniture label ISHINOMAKI LABORATORY, which designed a series of minimalist but highly functional furniture in 2011, following the earthquake in Japan. Originally motivated by the idea to work with the victims of the disaster to produce the most essential furniture for everyday use in a simple way, their designs have since received considerable attention worldwide.
Core concepts are the use of local, readily available woods, a manageable complexity in processing and a construction that is both simple and functional. Joints are often realized by using high-quality stainless steel screws, like with this stool as well.
